PM: Milan interested in Borussia Dortmund duo to reinforce defence and attack

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in two Borussia Dortmund players who could reinforce two roles where additions are needed this summer, a report claims.

PianetaMilan reports how Matteo Gabbia could leave in the summer transfer window while there is uncertainty about how Simon Kjær will return after his ruptured knee ligaments, so another central defender may be needed in addition to Sven Botman.

That is why the management are keeping an eye on Manuel Akanji of Dortmund, who could be on his way out after the signings of Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck and would leave through ‘favourable conditions’ given his contract expiring in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are also admirers of Thorgan Hazard who could arrive if there are exits in attack like Ante Rebic and/or Junior Messias, given that the Belgian can play on the left wing, right wing or as a playmaker.

The former Borussia Mönchengladbach man could represent an alternative solution for Stefano Pioli when Rafael Leão needs a rest and though he is under contract until June 2024, he could leave for €20m.

  1. Thorgan Hazard is a fantastic and versatile player. I do hope we hang onto Rebic though — because he is also a versatile player who can play many positions, presses well, assists well and can score goals.

Send Messias back to Crotone and loan Saele out to some other team… get Hazard and keep Rebic.

I would also still be in favor of trying to get Berardi (or, if I can dream please, either Dybala or Perisic — or BOTH to weaken our 2 biggest competitors for next year’s Scudetto and Perisic can play left or right side; while Dybala can play RW or CAM… our 2 weakest positions).
