Pellegatti: Four centre-backs heavily linked with Milan will not arrive in January – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Three names can be crossed of AC Milan’s wish list as their pursuit of a new central defender continues, a journalist has claimed.

In a video on his YouTube (via MilanLive), Carlo Pellegatti spoke about Milan’s hunt for a centre-back which he claims will fully accelerate on Wednesday-Thursday, but Sven Botman of Lille and Bremer of Torino have always been excluded because of cost.

Despite reports in the papers, Eric Bailly of Manchester United and Abdou Diallo of PSG can also be taken off the list, while Milan’s strategy for who will eventually arrive is not clear and it remains possible they will not sign anyone at all.

The Rossoneri could sign a young defender or one who is not very young but established, but they have learned that a loan formula involving Botman, Bailly or Diallo will not be possible and as such must move on to other targets.

  1. Typically with this management, linking with infinite players and at the end buying none. Romagnoli and Gabbja are serie b quality, Kalulu is ok as a CB but not his position, Kjaer out for the season and Tomori out for we dont know. And they say us we are well covered or dont need to rush for a CB…God help us tonight!

    1. The media is linking players.

Pretty obvious you do not understand football if you think any club STILL IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE will sell a key player in January – Lille also aims to finish at one of top places in League 1.

They even did not accept over45m from Newcastle.
We are not Newcastle we had 200m loss 2 years ago.

We will move for Botman or Bremer in the summer. Last summer Milan spent 70m, 10th highest result.

If Donnarumma did not request mountains of gold we could have used that 15m to sign sby else too.

      1. You should clearly have Maldinis job, you are too smart to be true, respect.
Torino isn’t playing in Champions League, I dont see why we cant have him in January.

  2. I have learnt something here at Sempre Milan. The moment they keep linking Milan with a player, the club never signs that player. Look what happened with Daramy, Faivre, Alvarez etc.

Nobody knew when the club was following Tomori, Messias, Maignan and now Lazetic but the club signed them.

So, Milan ain’t gonna sign Botman, Bailly, Alvarez, Faivre and Noa Lang.

Remember the current CEO is Gazidis. He was CEO for a long time in Arsenal and they didn’t lift any trophy. They invested in young players and resold them and made a lot of money. While the fans were unhappy the club was getting mad rich.

That’s what we experiencing herein Milan.

    1. Arsenal couldn’t compete financially with Man City, Chelsea or Man United during the Gazidis era. In Serie A, it’s a level playing field.

      1. Very sad time when Milan in this current era can not sign a top CB for the future
Sitting second to Inter means nothing and tonights match against Juve will define Pioli’s team for the season

I hope he learns a few things from this match what a joke, and maybe the Ref’s head is screwed on not like the previous ones!
