MN: Milan gear up for big defensive signing – the current thoughts on Botman and Bremer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are planning on making a big investment for the centre-back department in the summer transfer window with two stand-out targets, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, the management are not expected to make a big signing in the next week but if anything they may sign a young centre-back to grow without the pressure of having to replace Simon Kjaer, or a loan deal.

A big name will come in the summer though and Milan are already working to secure one of either Sven Botman or Gleison Bremer. In terms of their profile, the current favoured target is Botman who is considered the ideal player to partner with Tomori, but Bremer would also be very welcome because he is one of the strongest defenders in Serie A and he knows the league better.

There is the economic aspect to evaluate as well, because the Dutchman has a contract until 2025 and in the summer Lille will ask for a high amount given the competition, while the Brazilian’s contact expires in 2023. Evaluations will be carried out over the next few months.
