AC Milan appear to have moved away from the idea of making a big investment on a centre-back during the January window, according to a report.
According to MilanNews, the Milan management are continuing to work to try and give Stefano Pioli a reinforcement for the defensive department just as they have been ever since Simon Kjaer sustained a season-ending knee injury in the away win against Genoa late last year.

The report adds that in the final week of the winter transfer window, the Rossoneri will try to complete a loan or sign a young defender with high potential, while the biggest investment will be made in the summer.
There are even two main targets for the summer window when the budget should allow a bit more spending and the opportunities should be greater, with Sven Botman of Lille and Bremer of Torino the duo picked out.
