GdS: Milan lining up €30m centre-back as Kessie’s replacement as first summer signings

By Oliver Fisher -

The January only ended a few weeks ago, but it is already time for AC Milan to start planning and plotting the summer one, with two purchases lined up.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports how Sven Botman and Renato Sanches are the number one targets for the centre-back and midfield departments respectively, with both owned by Lille and both having long been at the top of the wish list for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

The Rossoneri are ready to invest a significant amount of around €30m for the Dutch defender and while an agreement with the French club is yet to be found, a meeting at Casa Milan with Botman’s agents confirmed that he is pushing to move to Milan. R

Renato Sanches, on the other hand, remains the first target to replace Kessie and his farewell at the end of the season is growing in likelihood given Lille are outside the Champions League places and his deal expires in 2023.

  1. i am really not unhappy about said transfer (much better then last mercato baka, florenzi and pellegri f’cku) but do we really need a sanches for that money with that salary and w/o development potential? Milan now has learned at Kalulu, Leao, Tonali how great develpoment can be.
Joško Gvardiol salary 1,2mio would be best Milan defender in age of 20, Leipzig has paid 18mio. (will move for 70mios next year or the year after 😉 We really need someone in the management with balls…
Diambou, Simic, Sesko, Camara, Kjaergaard, Sucic

  2. Can’t Frattesi replace Kessie?
I don’t trust Sanches, especially after his time at Bayern. He is not a big club player. How about Kamara? We can get him for free. I don’t like the idea of Sanches.

    1. Fratessi play style just like tonali and Bennacer,we need box to box midfielder that can replace kessie next season. Kamara good but he said he prefer play as CB. Renato if deal will compete with pobega for starting spot while tonali compete with Bennacer in double pivot
