PM: Not only Ziyech – Milan eyeing two young centre-backs from Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to use their good relationship with Chelsea to fill more than one gap in their current squad, according to a report.

PianetaMilan report that Milan are looking to do more business with Chelsea after the signings of Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud and Tiemoue Bakayoko, but they are not just targeting Hakim Ziyech.

The Rossoneri are also eyeing the Blues as having potential fixes for their centre-back department given Alessio Romagnoli’s exit. The report mentions the 19-year-old Levi Colwill as a target, who returned to Chelsea after having spent a season on loan in the Championship at Huddersfield.

However, he has immense potential and as such the London club do not want to part with him. What is more likely is being able to seal a deal for Malang Sarr, with Milan having followed him since his time at OGC Nice. A loan with option to buy is possible, but Newcastle, West Ham and Olympique Marseille are also keen.

  1. Sarr is young and left footed. Suits us well especially loan with option deal.

However while Chelsea want to offload Ziyech (because they are bringing in Sterling) they are actually a bit short at the back having lost Rudiger+Christiansen and potentially Azpiculeta+Alonso to La Liga.

We’ll probably end up with a stop gap like Acerbi
