Fichajes: Milan turn to Chelsea again – €40m man identified as possible Leao replacement

AC Milan are focused on strengthening their attack ahead of the upcoming season and they have Chelsea winger Noni Madueke as one of their main targets.

According to Fichajes, Madueke is one of the ‘most interesting solutions’ that the management are thinking about in view of the summer. Madueke joined Chelsea in January 2023 from PSV Eindhoven, and while he has shown glimpses of his quality, he has also had his ups and downs.

In 74 appearances for the Blues, he has scored 17 goals and provided seven assists, numbers that show his potential. However, he has so far failed to establish a permanent place in the team, due to his inconsistency but also the sheer number of other forwards in the Chelsea squad.

Milan are interested in him because they are thinking about Rafael Leão’s situation. The Portuguese has been linked with several teams such as PSG and Chelsea themselves, which has made the Rossoneri look for options in the market.

Madueke, with his speed, dribbling and ability to play on both flanks, fits the bill. Furthermore, his experience in the Premier League makes him an attractive option for Milan, who have bought players like Christian Pulisic while they were under-valued and turned them into key squad members.

Milan are confident they can negotiate a transfer fee of around €40m to sign Madueke, even if Chelsea are not pressured to sell. Any move, it seems, depends on what happens with Leao.

    1. They move Pulisic back to the left side and play Madueke on the right. He’s young, but doesn’t appear to have topped out. Leão, I’m not sure is getting any better. The problem at CFC is they have so many wingers a young player will never be able to get comfortable to shine. If they can get him for 40mk, sell Leão for 70ml and use the profit to buy a needed player that would be great.

      1. Pulisic back to the left side? Pulisic is primarily a RW, that has been his best position in his career so far. Chukwueze should be sold and a deputy RW should be brought in (maybe Berardi?), with Pulisic being starter RW, and maybe sharing AM position as well with Reijnders.
Now for LW if Leao is sold, them Milan should look for Nico Williams (release clause i think is 60 M), or Baena from Villarreal (whose release also should be around 60 M); or maybe Martinelli from Arsenal (has not had the best season this season but is a good player and still young)
Would be interesting actually, if both Theo and Leao leave, to bring in N. Williams and Alex Grimaldo and have a spanish left side.
