Repubblica: Milan retain interest in signing Chelsea outcast as Pioli has his say

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not given up on signing Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea with Stefano Pioli specifically asking for him, according to a report.

Over the past couple of days reports have emerged from various sources suggesting that Milan are keen on landing Ziyech having pursued him in previous windows but will struggle to pay his salary as the winger’s demands may even increase after a good World Cup.

However, La Repubblica claim that Ziyech remains in the thoughts of the management with Paolo Maldini having already negotiated over a deal back in the summer transfer market.

Despite being one of the most impressive performers in Morocco’s record-breaking run to the World Cup semi-finals, the 29-year-old is still not a part of Chelsea’s plans, so the operation should be considered ‘alive’.

The paper goes on to add that Pioli has even expressed his opinion that Ziyech would be the ideal reinforcement for the right side of the attack.
