MN: Milan closely monitoring situation of Arsenal defender as potential Botman alternative

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not putting all their eggs in one basket when it comes to their pursuit of a new centre-back as there are alternatives to Sven Botman on the list, a report claims.

MilanNews reports that Gleison Bremer of Torino is one of the alternatives to the Dutchman, but William Saliba’s situation carefully as the Frenchman was offered to Milan by the intermediary Oscar Damiani back in January.

He is owned by Arsenal and spent last season on loan at Marseille, where he managed to find a year of consistent playing time which benefitted his performances, but now he will return to the English capital with two years left on his deal.

The player himself admitted in an interview with Telefoot that the main thing on his mind is rejoining the Gunners: ” I still belong to Arsenal and now I’ll go back to them, I have two years left on my contract. I want to show my true face and have the chance to play for this great club, even if it’s not just up to me.”

Milan are keen on the 21-year-old centre-back but the cost is certainly not low and it is always difficult to negotiate with English clubs. The Rossoneri will continue to monitor Saliba closely even if Botman remains the number one target for now.
