AC Milan are expected to formally complete the signing of Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello in the coming weeks, a report claims.
The rumours about Sportiello have been doing the rounds for some time now with multiple sources even claiming that Milan tried to bring forward the signing to January given Ciprian Tatarusanu’s struggles as the deputy to Mike Maignan.
According to what MilanNews are reporting, in the next few weeks Sportiello – who is currently on an expiring deal with Atalanta – will sign his contract with Milan, which will be valid from July 2023.
The Rossoneri did indeed try to complete his signing six months in advance in the January window but ultimately had to walk away because Atalanta demanded €5m for a permanent deal.
That means the management decided to postpone everything to the summer, when the experienced goalkeeper will arrive on a free transfer to replace Tatarusanu and Antonio Mirante.
Actually we need him now, not in the summer.
Too little, too late.
The measly 5 mill to bring him in January, might be the difference in getting, or not getting CL football next season – I hope not,,,,
How many goalkeeper Milan keep buying then shelfing to sell? Another mismanagement going on for yrs now and no one paying attention to
We can use him in Europa league next season when we miss out on CL LOL 😝😝😝. Way to save that $ Redbird…Pathetic
