CorSera: Milan full of confidence and destroy Lazio with speed, rhythm and vertical play

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan put on another show at San Siro after their derby success at the weekend, this time sweeping Lazio aside 4-0 in the Coppa Italia quarter-final.

As il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes this morning, Milan played a game clearly full of enthusiasm after the win against Inter on Saturday night, which meant they came out against Lazio and not only emerged victorious again but they utterly dominated Maurizio Sarri’s side.

Brahim Diaz was once again exceptional, Sandro Tonali was the usual master in the control room, Junior Messias looked bright again while Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud stole the show. The Portuguese winger opened the scoring, while the French striker closed the result with another quick brace.

With speed, rhythm and vertical play it was Milan who booked their place in the semi-finals, as the win over Inter gave new energy and greater confidence to the squad, who now have two more derbies on the fixture list in the final four of the cup.
