CM: Milan’s decisions regarding Kalulu paying off – Maldini and Massara plan the next step

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been enjoying the fantastic performances of defender Pierre Kalulu in recent weeks and will soon reward him for his work, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Kalulu currently earns around €600k net per season and the idea of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara is to give him a 50% increase at the end of the season by extending the current agreement – which is expiring in 2025 – by a further season.

Kalulu started the games against Napoli, Empoli and Cagliari alongside Fikayo Tomori in what has been a vital stretch in Milan’s season, and he passed every test with flying colours, even scoring the winner against Empoli.

He now seems to have overtaken Alessio Romagnoli in the hierarchy and the management can smile at their decision not to sign a centre-back in the January window, preferring to focus on Kalulu rather than sign a player for the sake of it.

Some French and German clubs have tried to get Kalulu on loan in the last year and a half but Milan said no, and his imminent renewal is a sign of how important he has become.
