MN: Milan’s stellar defence covers for attacking deficiencies – now balance must be restored

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are top of the Serie A table with eight league games to go and in the last three wins they have shown that they know how to emerge victorious without scoring multiple goals.

MilanNews reports how the month of March was certainly the emblem of the strategy implemented by technical director Paolo Maldini with regards to constructing a young defence full of confidence in their abilities.

Mike Maignan (26), Theo Hernandez (24), Pierre Kalulu (21), Fikayo Tomori (24) and Davide Calabria (25) all played and kept a clean sheet in the cup game against Inter and in the 1-0 wins over Napoli, Empoli and Cagliari. Their contributions were more than just that too as the goal against Andreazzoli’s team came from Kalulu,

Of course the Rossoneri will have to revive their attacking prowess in view of the last eight league games against Bologna, Torino, Genoa, Lazio, Fiorentina, Verona, Atalanta and Sassuolo, but the confidence that the defence are currently playing with proves that they can win any game.
