AC Milan are closing in on completing another exit, as young defender Vittorio Magni is expected to join Cesena.

After making 16 appearances for Milan Futuro in the league last season, Magni went on the preseason tour with the senior side as part of an extended squad. Over the weekend he even started in the friendly against Leeds United in Dublin, which finished 1-1.

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, the young Rossoneri full-back will move to Cesena in Serie B. The deal should be a season-long loan to the Bianconeri, where he’ll have the opportunity to play, develop and show his talent.

With the Futuro suffering relegation to Serie D last season, the decision has been taken to loan out quite a few of the young talents, giving them the opportunity to play levels above the fourth tier. Christian Comotto – another star of preseason – is an example of this, as he joined Spezia.

The 19-year-old Magni can play left-back if needed so his versatility could be useful to Cesena. There is no mention of an option to make the deal permanent either so Milan will keep control of the teenager, hoping to welcome him back in just under a year as a more well-rounded defender.

  1. It’s better to loan the youngsters out where they can get some game time and develop. Does not seem like there are many promising youngsters coming through. Bartesaghi seems like the only one that is close to 1st team quality.
