Milan depart for the USA in less than a month – mercato urgency increases

While the summer transfer window has not yet opened, there is still a sense of urgency to get some business done within the next month.

Milan’s decision to sack Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara less than 48 hours after the season ended drew mixed reactions to say the least and it meant that a lot of the plans that were drawn up by the duo in view of the window had to be thrown out.

The new management duo of Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada have already missed out on targets too, with Evan N’Dicka heading to Roma and Marcus Thuram on his way to rivals Inter.

Of course there is still over two months left before the window shuts which leaves plenty of time to do business. However, it is less than a month to go until 20 July, the day in which Milan will fly to the United States for their summer tour.

Out there they will face Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona on the west coast, and of course the ideal is to have the majority of the squad – including some new signings – there for what will be important preparation ahead of the new season.

An example would be Charles De Ketelaere’s arrival last summer, which ended up dragging on into August and he missed out on what would have been very useful adjustment and adaptation time.

  1. Now you are randomly blaming CDK’s bad season because he was bought late?

Everyone’s fav Maldini negotiated that, he took 2 months, Milan never gets signings done in June, whether its Moncada or Maldini or Galliani so why is everyone panicking on the 24th of June?

    No patience this gen

    1. Yeah, that is why big clubs sign players before July. So they are ready for the next season. There is nothing random there. Well all the best players will be transferred by July. And Galliani signed superstars like Robinho and Ibra on last day, not random players from Dutch league that will 100% need to adapt as they have no experience playing anywhere else…

      1. Where? Dont see Juve make any signings?

        What is Napoli doing?

        Inter just did 1, Thuram.

Roma just did a free signing, thats their major business?

        Lazio hasnt even done anything.

        1. Inter signed Thuram, Apliczueta and Yannick Bisseck. Frattesi is on hold until Brozo leaves along with Mamarashvili to replace Onana. SMS is also probably theirs.

          1. Yeah all free signings, you would complain if Milan only made free signings,

I can guarentee you you would’ve complained if Milan paid Thuram what Inter are paying him, so basically Milan cant win whatever they do, you hate them anyway

            Fan, huh?

        2. Juventus fell out of CL, they need to sell. If they didn’t have the point deduction they wouldn’t need to and they would buy players they have lined up already. Roma is not a big club. Napoli also. I said big clubs.

Check other leagues, when are top targets purchased? In which month? June.

        3. When I as a Milan fan know exactly who will Inter get and can probably write down their lineup for next season and have no idea what to expect from Milan. Horrible.

        4. Juve signing Weah for 12m, you know that name Weah? The son of the dude that won Ballon d’Or in Milan? The guy with the name that could bring money to Milan and plays for USA as well something we seemed keen to expand.
Yea and juve are signging him while Milan keep losing all major targets and only business that is concluded is the sale of star player.

          1. They havent concluded their signing yet and all they’ve done is sell so far so wtf you on about?

Why are you as a Milan fan more positive about Juve than Milan, wtf

          2. Weah Jr is garbage. Miliki is better and would cost a lot less. As for George, he had 3 good (not great) seasons, let’s not pretend he was Marco Van Basten.

        5. Well dont forget Roma get Aouar and Ndicka for free with ease, while also targeting Fofana. And we still didnt get kamada for free?. they’re doing good business literally

        6. Roma sign Aouar and Ndicka for free, that’s literally good business compare to us who struggle to sign Kamada at the moment and lost Thuram, even though Thuram is not that good based on stat. But if Roma is doing bad business, what would you say for us?

    2. Get your facts right, our mercato was blocked because of Cardinale’s takeover and we had no budget available until it was completed. Only then M&M were able to move for players and we got three of them in last days – CdK, Thiaw and Vranckx.

    3. What does this have to do with Maldini? Why can’t u just post ur admiration for the great work done by current directors? Seems like you’re realizing the work done by M&M in the kind of market we face is was quite good

    4. Random? I think I have rean that 100 times in the last year.

Maldini negotiated CdK for a month, the other month was wasted by the contract renewal.
