CM: Milan face difficult pursuit of Chelsea forward but two factors give them hope

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are facing a difficult pursuit of Hakim Ziyech due to Chelsea’s demands but they are hoping to rely on two factors, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Ziyech has been offered to Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara because he wants to leave Chelsea due to having a poor relationship with head coach Thomas Tuchel. The former Ajax star is exactly the player that Milan need to improve their attack because he can play as a right winger or as a playmaker and he has experience in the Champions League.

Milan have let Ziyech’s agent know that they are very interested in opening a negotiation with Chelsea but only if the conditions are right, which instantly means that any salary agreed must not disrupt the balance that has been struck among the other top players in the squad.

The formula is also important and there is an opening to a paid loan (of €5m) with an obligation to buy of around €20-25m. Now Chelsea will have to evaluate if a negotiation can be opened on these bases.

Milan are hoping to count on two things: excellent relations between the two American ownerships (Todd Boehly has just taken charge of the Premier League side) and Ziyech’s desire to join the Rossoneri.

  1. Ziyech or Asensio on the right side are both plausible and I would be fine with either one joining Milan. I don’t see Zaniolo working out because Roma is asking for too big of a transfer fee. We definitely need help at RW (obviously our worst position all year with Saele & Messias being bad/inconsistent… even CAM position we got more production w/ early months Diaz and then a couple of good Kessie games there and Krunic late).

So we MUST sign a talented player for RW who can help our attack and lessen the burden on Leao on the left.
