Bernardo Silva’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and AC Milan have begun discussions about bringing him to Italy.
As Calciomercato.com report, there is a lot of buzz around Bernardo Silva and when asked about his future, he told the BBC: “I know exactly what I’ll be doing in 2026, but now is not the right time to talk about it.” it only fuelled the speculation.

The 31-year-old former Monaco man is currently in his ninth consecutive season at City, but as mentioned his deal runs out at the end of the campaign. The chance to sign a playmaker of real quality on a free appeals to a lot of clubs.
Milan in the running
Bernardo Silva has always rejected the idea of leaving City, but now he will have a decision to made. Saudi clubs have circled in the past, while Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have made bids, but at 31 years old those offers are unlikely to be repeated.
His agent Jorge Mendes is now actively monitoring the market to understand what opportunities the player might have. In recent weeks, he has had contacts with several top Italian clubs, including Damien Comolli’s Juventus (who Bernardo Silva knows very well) and Milan.
Milan’s relationship with Mendes is good, as seen when they collaborated last winter in the Joao Felix deal. It’s worth reiterating that there are no official negotiations, but rather exploratory discussions to see if things could materialise.
Salary issue
The problem that Serie A sides have to contend with, however, is the Portuguese’s salary. We’re not just talking about what he’d be offered in Saudi Arabia, either.
Currently, Bernardo Silva earns €10.1m net at Manchester City (which comes to €18.3m gross). These figures are unreachable for Italian clubs today, and the player would have to be willing to take a big pay cut to land in Serie A.
So, it becomes a question of moving to the Middle East for more money or hanging fire for the right European club to keep playing at the highest level. A renewal with City cannot be completely ruled out, either.

If anything Guardiola’s tactics stifled him. Bernardo can do the job, he’s just not a fit for our team, he doesn’t suit a 3-5-2, a 3-4-1-2 yes where he can be the Trequartista, but not our system. He isn’t a Mezzala, he isn’t a Regista or a Mediano.
Its more than salary. He doesn’t fit this team at all. We dont use wingers as forwards, and we aren’t gonna play him where pulisic is he’d have to just play as a CM
Correct, there is no role for him. Good player, but he just doesn’t fit the squad. He can’t play Regista, Mediano, or Mezzala. He isn’t a wingback, so there literally isn’t a position he would be able to fill.
To all those saying he doesn’t fit our system. Hakan never played as CDM or CM for Milan. He went and became the best holding midfielder at Inter same gor Eriksen at Spurs just saying.
