TMW: Milan lodge enquiry over Arsenal man as centre-back search continues

By Oliver Fisher -

After missing out on the signing of Sven Botman who went to Newcastle United, AC Milan are looking into other options to strengthen their defence.

According to what is being reported by TMW, one of the profiles on Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s list is Pablo Mari. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Udinese and has since returned to Arsenal.

However, the future of the Spaniard could be back in Serie A because Hellas Verona and Fiorentina have already expressed an interest, and now an enquiry was made by Milan who as mentioned are looking to bolster their rearguard numerically.

Mari’s contract at the Emirates Stadium runs until June 2024, but there will be question marks about what playing time the 28-year-old will get given that William Saliba has also returned from his loan spell with Marseille. He could represent a low-cost option for the Rossoneri.
