Tuttosport: Milan evaluating whether to keep Belgian midfielder permanently

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are evaluating whether to keep Belgian midfielder Aster Vranckx permanently or not at the end of the season, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are undecided on whether Vranckx would be a worthy addition to the side for the price that Wolfsburg want.

He is currently on loan with an option for the deal to be made permanent for €12 million, but Wolfsburg have been very clear that they still want that figure, rather than to negotiate a lower one.

Vranckx has had a limited level of involvement so far this season under Stefano Pioli although it has increased in recent weeks. The 20-year-old is certainly talented but Milan may feel that the €12 million will be better spent elsewhere.

He has featured eight times for the Diavolo this season and got one assist, meaning he would not leave a clear gap should he be lost.

  1. The lad deserves more playing time!

Saying that, had we actually spent 10m on enzo Fernández instead of potentially 12 on this guy, we would be a richer club.

The Accountant Club Milan supporters on here would say that our finances would be in trouble if we had made such shrewd investments.

Never mind, Botman, Alvarez etc all of who’s value have skyrocketed

    1. We don’t have good coach to give them playing time.. rather than.. they aren’t ready yet to play.. I want Milan to lose on Sunday.. I want him to be sack

      1. You also want Milan, to play Europa League next season? Even if they sack Pioli, we all know, they will not hire a proven coach.. But, another mediocre coach like Giampaolo! Changing coach, won’t change our fortunes, unless owners are willing to elevate our squad, and sign adequate players..

    2. Took the words out of my mouth. Particularly shrewd piece of business from Benfica, who appear to have infinitely more foresight than Milan…….

  2. I said many times, if Milan want balanced books and they won’t invest in the market then they need a coach who can develop young players. Pioli is not that coach, and this is one of the many confusions in this Milan structure. If Enzo did make the transfer to Milan his price would not skyrocket, Pioli would say he is not ready to play.

  3. Both Enzo and Vranckxx were unproven. Now that Enzo is getting regular playing time he is doing well and now everyone is saying Enzo could’ve been a shrewd investment?

Vranckxx is on loan, which means we didn’t spend anything yet. Moreover… I can assure you.. Enzo coming to milan would be the same as Vranckxx, haters would be calling for Maldini’s head because there is NO WAY Pioli would pick Enzo over Krunic. which means.. 10 mil would go down the drain. For Benfica it was a shrewd business.. because Portuguese league is pathetic.. for Milan.. it’d be a 10 mil loss with Enzo in Pioli’s hand.

Vrankxx is not a bad player. He definitely has talent because Moncada scouted him as Kessie replacement a year back.

No matter who we bring to Pioli, it’s just not gonna click in the first year if he is a young talent. Kalulu played in the first season less than vranckxx. It took 3 seasons for Leao to get better. Saele is stuck somewhere deep in a limbo. Not a single primavera player made their way into Pioli’s team.

Pioli is good at using the strengths of existing strong players.. but developing young players is not his strength and he is too slow at it. He is unwilling to take chances with young players and sticks to his beliefs.

And we happen to be a club who aims to bet on young talents. It doesn’t mean we need to go with a #pioliout again.. Pioli has his strengths. Lets hope Pioli gets over his weaknesses soon to save us all.

    Forza Milan.

  4. One has to keep in mind that last season we won the Serie A with nearly the same players, exception Kessie & Ibrahimovic, very difficult to replace. Up to 4 games from now we were more or less at top of the table. So what happened? History show that after a World Cup, there’ll be players who go off form & ours are key players. What should Pioli do? I think that in such circumstances one should see that the defence is solid & reliable, with experienced players. The aim first should be not to concede goals rather than to score. This may be achieved with a good & strong midfield. I am sure that we (Milan) will overcome this difficult moment and no room for panic & let Pioli with the help of Maldini do his work. The players should be calm, definitely not over confident (Theo) and also not afraid to do what they are capable of doing. Forza Milan per le ultimate 64 anni.
