Estadio Deportivo: Milan join Everton and Leeds in pursuit of Blackburn Rovers star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the clubs that are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Díaz, a report has claimed.

According to Estadio Deportivo in Spain, Ben Brereton Díaz is attracting interest from around Europe having started the season with seven goals in 14 games in the second division of England – the Championship – with Blackburn Rovers. That comes after he scored 22 in 37 last season, before suffering an injury that kept him out for some time.

For this reason, many clubs have enquired about his situation such as UD Almería, Valencia, Celta Viga and Sevilla in Spain, plus Leeds United or Everton in the Premier League, but Milan are the biggest club to have knocked on the door.

The report states that the 23-year-old is of interest to Milan who are ‘closely following the evolution’ of the striker given the need to sign a new player for that position given Olivier Giroud is 36, Divock Origi has had injury issues and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to retire.

At the moment, the player is not talking about his departure from Blackburn Rovers: “There were rumours, as with any player, but I’m happy to play for Blackburn, with my team-mates. I’ve been here for four years, I love the club and I’m happy. I want to keep scoring goals for the team.”
