An update regarding AC Milan’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos has arrived from his homeland.
According to A Bola, PSG have received the first official offer from Milan for the signing of Ramos. The Portuguese striker is a top priority for the Rossoneri to strengthen their attack, and the club’s management intends to fulfil the wishes of Ruben Amorim, who gave the green light to sign him.

Negotiations ongoing
On the table is a package deal (including performance-related bonuses) that could reach €45m, slightly below PSG’s valuation of €50m. This difference shouldn’t be enough to prevent the deal from going through, but there are still details to be worked out.
That’s what Milan and Jorge Mendes are currently working on. For the Portuguese international, who recently turned 25, a long-term contract is being prepared. It is a four or five-year deal and €4m net per year, a salary similar to what he earns in Paris.
The directors want to speed up the deal because they know the competition is fierce, especially from Atlético Madrid. Unlike the Diavolo, they have secured a place in next season’s Champions League. However, the fact Milan will play Europa League football does not seem to have deterred Ramos.
After three seasons in Paris, and despite having a contract until 2028, Ramos feels it’s time to close the cycle at the club where his compatriots Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and João Neves also play.
Milan ‘should indeed be the next step in his career’ they add, as Amorim is ‘close to having his first request fulfilled’.
45 million is too much money for him no matter how you explain it, structure it and break it down.

Maybe but we’re not utd, barcelona, liverpool, city or chelsea (or psg) i.e we don’t have a limitless budget so we(‘ll) need to spend our money wisely.

We shouldn’t put all (of) our eggs in one basket, there are other players as well, not just Ruben’s compatriots.
We are talking of players, humans…not mutual funds or shares that you buy all from the same AMC. Hence putting all eggs in one basket doesn’t apply here. All portuguese players cannot falter at the same time, portugal will not go to a war with Italy that all portuguese players would revolt together but all funds from a single fund house can, if the fund house itself struggles. All eggs in one basket is for investments, and though players are treated as investments they have a mind of their own and not controlled by a single entity unlike eggs who don’t have a mind of their own and are controlled by the basket.
The price seems very high for his recent output, but fair play if he chooses a starting role with us instead of another bench role at Atletico, especially if he’s not demanding a salary increase. Transfer fee feels very large though, I hope a lot of the reported number is bonuses.

Yes 45 mil seems too much for a non regular-starter at PSG. His market valuation is around 30 mil. But if we can sell Gimenez for 30 mil ish, and Ramos is a direct request from Amorim, 45 mil is something we can rationalize.
Atletico was to sign him to replace Alvarez. Not for bench?

Same things most of you say today about Ramos was said about Hojlund last summer and then when he started scoring goals especially vs Milan the same people were saying how people in management were idiots for not signing him.

Osimhen for 50 million? Not in a million years.
Well….. yes, we have to have an affordable salary too. The transfer fee is only part of his cost to us.
Osimhen gets paid more than 2x our highest earner. If we paid 50M for him, his annual cost to the budget would be about 30M.
For context, N’Kunku is around 16M and I don’t think anyone else is about 12M per year.
Marmoush also earns 5M gross per year more than anyone in our squad.
Sorloth (just like everyone else at Atletico) is on a far more affordable salary and would probably cost somewhat less, but is 30 and a less technical player. I’d personally be very happy to see him get a shot though.

So 45M seems reasonable for your next starting 9 and the position is locked up early in the window instead of a last minute deal. Maybe we should be content that at least management is being decisive.

I saw some article recently saying we were going to finally get a prolific goal scorer. Seems like thats not happening then when we waste 45mil on this guy. The amount of goals he’ll probably give us will be the same or probably less if we just play camarda or colombo up front.
