It hasn’t taken long for Cesare Casadei to make an impression at Torino, and AC Milan have come forward with an enquiry.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) talks about Milan’s interest in Casadei. Having returned to Italy during the winter transfer window he has really hit the ground running, showcasing the talent that caused Chelsea to invest in him.

Up to this point, the former Inter player has made five appearances in Serie A with Torino, also scoring a goal (against Monza) and providing an assist. It is not a bad return and his eye-catching performances have indeed caught the eye of Milan, but also Napoli and Fiorentina.

However, given the significant financial effort made in January to sign him, Urbano Cairo has no intention of selling the player. It is for this reason that he responded to the advances of these big teams with a firm no.

According to the data available on Transfermarkt, Casadei made the switch to Chelsea from Inter for just short of €15m in August 2022. He went to Torino for a figure of around €13m, with a sell-on clause believed to be included in the deal.

The report also mentions that Cairo seems more willing to think about the idea of selling Samuele Ricci instead, despite his recent renewal, though he would want at least €40m for him.

  1. We’ve been crying to get him from Chelsea this winter when he was availlable for as much as Bondo.

Great work you incompetent bunch of chimps. Gtfo of here asap.

    1. It is not Bondo. Because Bondo are replacement for bennacer that want to leave. But yet they still make mistake choosing joao Felix over casadei. JF price tag & salary are far above casadei, ACM advantage from casadei : he is ACM fans ( even if you give him salary 1,5-2m euro nett, he will sign the contract for ACM)

  2. The super-scouts of Milan are so brilliant that they can’t recognize a true talent when the price tag is ~10M€ and they wake up only once the price has went up to 30-40M€ and then say “he’s too expensive”. Fng amateurs.

  3. And one cannot ever forget we still bought EMERSON ROYAL for almost 20M€ while thinking Ricci, Retegui & Casadei were all “too expensive” when their pricetags were ~10M€!!! YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS SH1T UP!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀

    1. Now the Cardinale “experts” will come and tell you that the Italian team hasn’t been doing very good lately so we shouldn’t buy Italians…

  4. If it’s between him and Ricci, we better take him, he will be cheaper, is bigger, more versatile and technically better, a deal for him can still be done…

  5. Not sure there’s any truth to it, but it does expose massive failure on our scouting side – that said, if they chose Bondo instead, he’s not had chance to prove himself yet – maybe he’ll be the better long-term bet but it’s not looking like a great choice so far.

    1. IF (big if) the management even considered Casadei, they made up their minds when they asked
      a) is Bondo Italian? and
      b) is Casadei Italian.

Case closed. The decision was clear. No further discussion needed.

    2. It’s not about choosing instead because Bondo is deemed as a cover for Fofana and they are different types of players with Casadei.

Casadei is more of a Reijnders type of player, someone who can play either a mezzala or attacking midfielder. And there we’re also short on alternatives to Reijnders.

      1. They went for Joao Felix instead because of a certain super agent Jorge Mendez. That’s why they didn’t get Casadei. Also Chelsea didn’t want a loan formula with option to buy. They wanted to sell him outright.
