Evening Standard: Milan eyeing Chelsea attacking duo – €58m deal could help

By Oliver Fisher -

Confirmation has arrived from England that AC Milan are interested in signing two forwards from Chelsea in the January transfer window.

The Evening Standard report that Milan have ‘reignited their interest’ in signing winger Hakim Ziyech and will explore the possibility of sealing a loan deal in the winter transfer window, given that the Morocco international has made just two starts for Chelsea this season and wants to leave.

As per the source, Paolo Maldini is interested in a six-month loan deal with an option to buy in the summer, while Ziyech for his part is focusing on doing well at the World Cup with Morocco and will ‘decide his future after the tournament in Qatar’.

Milan want Ziyech last summer and his friend Romelu Lukaku even recommended the idea to the Rossoneri management though in the end Charles De Ketelaere joined for over €30m as the big attacking investment.

Meanwhile, Milan also want Chelsea striker Armando Broja but the Blues ‘will refuse any offers for the Albania international’ who in turn ‘does not want to leave’ having recently signed a long-term deal.

The report ends by saying that the London club have moved to sign RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku and are ‘confident of sealing a £50m deal’ for the 25-year-old, which is equal to around €58m. That could potentially change plans for the other forwards in the squad.
