AC Milan are not going to qualify for the Champions League as things stand, which will have a negative impact on the accounts.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, without qualification for the top European club competition, Milan would fail to achieve an important objective not only on a sporting level but also on an economic level.
With no Champions League football the revenues will be decidedly less and this could affect the balance sheet, an aspect that appears to be for a long time the absolute priority of this ownership group, one which has always recorded profits since it arrived.
Things could therefore change quite a lot in terms of the summer budget that the new sporting director has to work with. However, the paper writes that some help could come from the mercato, more specifically players on loan.
There are 12 players owned by the the Rossoneri that are currently on loan around Italy and the world. If some of the options to buy are made official, it could bring around €50-60m which would help to plug a large portion of the gap from not having UCL football.
The likes of Pierre Kalulu, Yacine Adli, Noah Okafor, Ismael Bennacer, Alvaro Morata, Tommaso Pobega, Lorenzo Colombo and Devis Vasquez are all on loan with a buy-out, while Alexis Saelemaekers could also raise funds given the excellent season he is having.
10+12+12+14+7+1 = 56M without Morata and Okafor
add 25M from RLC and Emerson, Tomori 25M and we have potentially 106M
Coppola, Ricci, Lucca, Frendrup/Varela and the team will be night and day. Also Alexis as Leao understudy.
Or instead of Frendrup/Varela, get Tonali in Thiaw + cash exchange. That would actually change our chances for Scudetto next season.
The team will be night and day because they will sign a few relegation teams players , or bottom half of the table players like Coppola, Ricci, Lucca, Frendrup?
The team will need to be assembled better in a more cohesive way, no matter where the players come from. They have to compliment each other in their characteristics.
no we will have players that have strength and can get the ball back… it’s about balance and our team constantly loses posession, which is single handedly the predominantly our worst quality. having people like Varela/Frendrup/Tonali and Ricci gives you that. Musah won’t defend, has the attention of a squirl and Fofana isn’t a CDM.
Guys, what are you calculating? The 60M is to cover the missing income from Champions League. Not to spend.
Frendrup 25M, Ricci 28M, 10-12M Coppola… Lucca rift with Udinese can allow us to bargain for loan+obligation for him
63-65M for these players is a good deal. You can cover the losses and minimize previous year’s spending by selling extra dead-weight and freeing yourself from their salaries
There is 100M missing in income, from champions league money . Did you even read what I wrote? -100M + 100M from sales is 0€.
Agree 100%
RLC, Emerson, Chukweze, Morata, Bennacer, Adli, Kalulu, and Tomori all need to be sold permanently! These guys are mostly all dead weight or under average players.
Coppola, Tonali, Ricci should definitely be brought in. Coppola at 10 million +Ricci at around 30 million. Got to find a way to get Tonali back here. Italian and a true symbol….
Would finally see a guy with my last name here too lol (Coppola)
add Fabbian (Tiji rotation) & Orsolini/ Esposito/ Berardi as RW so we can sell flop Chuck
Great, even less money for transfers.
Milan need capital gain of 80 million, if costs stay same like this year. Or if they cut costs ( selling expensive flops) capital gain can be less.
Luckily for Milan players like Saelemaekers, Adli, Kalulu can be shown ad pure capital gain in terms of sale (because theirs low value on balance sheet shown as ammortisation).
Plus Pobega, Colombo, are homegrown players.
Nothing Okafor is definitely hard possible to be sold for 20+ million. And Bennacer and Morata are kind of players where Milan is going to cut losses in terms of their sale.
I think keeping Saelemaekers for next year is better if they can’t reach 25 million sale, and Sale of Chukwueze is better.
Ruben Loftus and Tomori, with Emerson Royal should also be sold. So with sale of Kalulu Adli Bennacer Morata Pobega and Colombo, Milan can reach revenues almost enough for next season.
Kalulu 17 million, + Adli 10 + Colombo 5 + Pobega 7 million is 39 of capital gain.
Chukwueze, Ruben Loftus, Tomori, Bennacer, Morata, Emerson Royal, departure would cut loses by 55 million… which is huge amount.
