AC Milan made official contact with Roma yesterday over a deal to sign Nicolo Zaniolo before the window shuts, according to a report.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported live on Sky (via MilanNews) last night that the negotiation for Zaniolo continues as the Milan management had their first official talks with Roma on Wednesday, with whom relations remain cordial.
However, the Giallorossi are not stepping down from their demands of €35m without any conditions. Milan are not expected to be able to offer this figure but have asked Roma for 24 hours to speak with their owners and decide whether to make an significant effort for the player.
Given that we are now in the final week of the winter transfer window things will have to move quickly if Milan are to get the deal over the line as Roma would need to find a replacement, such as Hakim Ziyech who has been extensively linked.
35 is a hard pass. 25 would be somewhat ok
Ziyech shouldn’t be the replacement he should be our priority.
