Sky: Milan close Florenzi deal with discount; Newcastle ready to ‘go crazy’ for Botman

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on getting their defensive department in place ahead of the 2022-23 season but some operations are easier that others.

Speaking on Sky Italia (via MilanNews), the well-known journalist Gianluca di Marzio gave an update on the transfer market, which seems to be red hot for the Rossoneri despite the fact we are early in June and the club has just changed owners.

He reports that Milan have reached an agreement over the permanent signing of Alessandro Florenzi from Roma for a figure of €2.7-2.8m, therefore a figure which is quite a bit lower than initially established.

Regarding the pursuit of Lille centre-back Sven Botman, Di Marzio confirms that there have been complications in the deal for Paolo Maldini and co. because Newcastle United are back in the race to sign him and they seem willing to ‘go crazy’ in order to win the race for the Dutchman.
