Milan flying on social media under Roc Nation – 130k new Instagram followers on ‘Tonali Day’

By Oliver Fisher -

On the same day that Ivan Gazidis outlined the club’s plans to grown on and off the pitch, news has arrived suggesting their presence on social media is on the up.

Earlier this year Milan entered an important partnership with entertainment group Roc Nation. Jay Z’s company has had an incredible impact from a communicative point of view, revolutionising the Rossoneri’s social networks and obtaining amazing results.

Thanks to captivating graphics, breathtaking presentation videos and precise communication strategies, the Rossoneri social channels have seen an important increase in followers.

According to reports from Outpump (via MilanNews), in the last two months the official Milan Instagram page has grown by 800,000 followers, while on ‘Tonali Day’ alone – thanks to targeted videos and posts – saw an increase of 130,000 followers in just one day.

In addition to the social activity, Roc Nation uses some clients (such as Danny Green of the Los Angeles Lakers) to advertise AC Milan products and increase their visibility. These strategies and these numbers, clearly, translate into greater visibility and a consequent increase in earnings.

A profitable strategy, therefore, for a club like Milan that wants to return to the top of world football and must do so through increasing revenues.
