Sky: Milan keep Frattesi option alive while waiting for news on Tonali

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are waiting to hear how long Sandro Tonali will be out for and it could increase their urgency to sign a new midfielder, a report claims, with a Sassuolo star in their sights.

According to what is being reported by Sky (via MilanNews), Monday will be the day of truth for Sandro Tonali as Milan will discover the extent of the injury that the midfielder sustained to his flexor during Saturday’s preseason win over Vicenza.

From the scans, Stefano Pioli and the management will know how long the Italian will have to stay away from the field and that could change the Rossoneri’s market strategy given their could be a greater and more urgent need to reinforce the midfield.

The name of Davide Frattesi of Sassuolo remains an option for Milan, but Sassuolo are currently asking for more than €20m to sell him this summer which would be an important investment after the outlay to sign Charles De Ketelaere. Meanwhile, there is interest from Juventus too.

It’s a horrible negotiation with Sassuolo. They are inflexible. Bad for Maldini’s purchase formulas. French clubs at least accept to receive later and for less.

          1. Yes, he is. It’s definitely on Massara and Moncada’s list. But PSG have always watched him closely. But they now have Renato Sanches and Fábian Ruiz and they shouldn’t hire more midfielders. It takes an investment similar to Frattesi’s, only Thuram is much better!
