AC Milan have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign a new deputy to Mike Maignan by two clubs, according to a report.
According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Maignan should only return to the field at the end of February and there is no good news from the transfer market. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been looking to give Stefano Pioli a more reliable deputy, with two tracks probed above all.
However, things have not gone to plan. Yesterday Milan were forced to accept that PSG will not let Sergio Rico leave on loan until the end of the season, so his name was crossed off the list.
Maldini and Massara also contacted Atalanta to try and bring forward Marco Sportiello’s arrival, but the €5m they are asking for effectively blocked the deal. Sportiello will only arrive at Milanello from July after a pre-contract was agreed ahead of next season.
Look back at the World Cup that Moroccan goalie and the dutch goalie both where verry good and both are just in the spotlight before not a lot of people know them so maybe they play in a low league with a low transfer demand i looked it up for the dutch goalie knoppert he is at herenveen
I still think we should pursue Cragno for loan instead. He isn’t playing at Monza, and surely dealing with uncle Galliani and Berlu would’ve been a lot more favourable than dealing with Atalanta. Cragno himself should probably prefer to sit on the bench of Milan (at worst) than rotting on Monza’s bench..
Getting Cragno could also mean that we’re free to let Mirante goes, and he’s Italian too, which is always welcomed. The thing is, does the management thinks Cragno would be an upgrade to Tata/Mirante? He hasn’t played for a while too, which is always a concern.
Maldini is a club legend, but Milan’s operations in the mercato at the moment are shockingly bad. Unambitious, short-sighted, tight-fisted and badly-directed.
The world cup inflates the price of every player who has played in it. Right now we need to be smart on who we buy. Of course, any new signing will need to time.
Unfortunate to see PSG not allowing us a loan.
Seems like not much has changed yet under Redbird. If we cannot afford to spend 5M in January on a position of need – backup keeper – as Tata is horrid – then what chance can we realistically expect to repeat? Asking a lot of this side considering we didn’t replace Kessie and still don’t have a consistent/ starting caliber ACM or RW. Ya I get it 5M is a lot for a backup 30 year old keeper – but the cost of losing more games due to Tata’s constant errors or poor positioning is greater than 5M imo
