CorSport: Milan aiming to lay groundwork and beat Juventus and Sevilla to striker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan believe that they are currently ahead of the competition in the race to land talented young striker Tommaso Mancini, a report claims.

Milan have shown a willingness to invest in young talent in order to bolster the ranks with players who could explode in the future, and it seems that Mancini is the latest name on their list as they aim to beat the competition to his signing.

As reported today by Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Juventus, Empoli, Benfica and Sevilla are also on the 18-year-old, but the feeling is that this week the Rossoneri could lay the foundations for an agreement with Vicenza.

Meanwhile, the two teams will face off in a friendly match on 6 August, and it could well be that the game will give a chance for the managements of the two clubs to come together and discuss the operation face to face.

  1. Serie a teams (of late) hardly invest in young talents.. This is why Italians tend to be inexpenienced even at 27.. Late exposure to international tournaments..

  2. This guy is a better bet than Lazetic or Roback imho. If we can offload them on loan or sell for a profit, Tommaso Mancini could be a 1st team regular in 3 years.

By then I assume even Ibra will finally have retired! 😆
