The latest news on the hypothesis regarding an early cancellation of the Serie A season has arrived, and it means Milan’s fate would hang in the balance.
Stefano Capozucca – the well-known sporting director – was asked by TMW Radio (via MilanLive) about the plans for the conclusion of the season if it cannot be completed on the field, and he admitted to having concrete information.
It seems that the 2019-20 Scudetto would not be awarded to either Juventus or Lazio, who are currently separated by just one point in the table at present.
There will be seven UEFA placings: the top four of the current standings will go to the Champions League, the next three instead to the Europa League, with Milan hoping to return as seventh for the current placement order, but Hellas Verona are a point behind having played a game less.
There would be only two relegations, as per Capozucca. A choice that would condemn Brescia and SPAL to Serie B, while there would be two promotions from B.
