There is a defensive rejig planned for AC Milan this summer, and Giovanni Leoni is one of the targets rising in popularity, currently.
In the past few weeks, there have been a number of names mentioned on the incoming front, with a few central defenders put in the mix. However, that is as a result of Milan looking to part with at least one or two defenders of their own.
One of those linked with a move to the Rossoneri is Leoni, the young defender from Parma, and an update has arrived from Calciomercato.com.
Advantage Milan?
Parma beat Inter and Napoli to the signature of Leoni, and now they are back in the race for him this summer, albeit for €10-15 million more than what was paid for him last summer. However, they may not be the leading parties.
Instead, that title may go to the Rossoneri, who are already seeking to get ahead of the duo and Juventus, who have also taken an interest. Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare both appreciate the defender, and the groundwork could begin to be laid now.
The Gialloblu are hoping to keep him for another season and have not received any concrete offers. However, it seems like it could only be a matter of time with the €15-20m price tag appealing to many.
I wanted Inter to buy him for peanuts last season and loan him out to gain experience. I would buy him this summer and loan him out for another season at Parma. He has potential and character, but it is better for him to keep maturing where he is.
Milan…hope…hope…hope…just don’t hope…ACT !!!!
Seens they have to wait for Tijjani, Maigan and Theo to be sold, with a central defender to make a purchase..because the ownership is refusing to inject any cashflow without it coming out of our transfer budget.
And why would they do that? Owners can give clubs loans, but giving a loan, which would have to be repaid, instead of wating 2-3 weeks for deals to go through would be incredibly stupid.
