Pedulla: Milan remain hopeful of signing Renato Sanches – a sign arrives from Lille

By Oliver Fisher -

Renato Sanches was not in training with Lille today which has fuelled rumours that he could soon leave the club amid links with AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Milan are continuing to monitor the situation involving Renato Sanches and they remain hopefuly that the turning point could come shortly having tried to get the deal over the line since back in the January window.

The French media are stating that the 24-year-old did not participate in the Lille training session scheduled for this afternoon while Pedulla adds that the Rossoneri management have been in talks with Jorge Mendes over Sanches.

Despite the competitions from Paris Saint- Germain for the Portuguese international Milan never gave up, considering him for months to be among their main target for the summer transfer market window.

There is an agreement with Lille over a transfer fee that is less than €20m given there is now under a year until his contract expires, and the report concludes by stating: “The clue of absence leads us to think that the situation may finally be unblocked”.

  1. Bruh a sign arrives from Lille bruh the player and mendes want to push psg to do something about it so if that sign is good for pedulla then he should stop make new article. Because even though there’s a sign the player and mendes gonna wait till psg do something. Or he will leave for free so he can choose he’s team and psg wouldn’t say no for a free transfer

    1. I think the whole PSG saga was to get Milan to increase their offer. I may be wrong but I think Sanches will come.

  2. He will come tomorrow if we increase the offer to at least 4M. It’s risky not to up the offer now since Carney option (if there ever was one) is gone. The problem w a wage cap/ceiling is that once it is made public – all players want that maximum amount. Benny will do the same. As I said many times I believe he is worth it. He’s only 24, has resale value and has CL experience and would fill a need. Where can you find a starter of his Calibre for only 15M, especially later in the transfer window? Hard to find. Not much left. I’m sure Mendes is doing Mendes things – trying to get Milan to up the offer. But in truth PSG, IF they unload Wynaldum, Parades and Gyuere – which looks increasingly more likely – will be in the market for Sanches and his ties to his former coach and director make him a favorite for PSG to sign. I don’t think we should wait and we should up the offer to 4-4.5M (but not go over the wage cap) to temp him to sign. No player wants to make less (3.2 vs 4.5M) in what could be his last lucrative contract. From 24-29 yers of age is where most players make most of their $$. So he wants as much as he can get. It’s not that he doesn’t want to come to Milan – he agreed to come in January but Lille didn’t want to sell then. he’s holding out for as much $$ as he can get. I personally wouldn’t risk losing him over another million bucks but that’s my opinion. If we don’t get him we could be stuck with Baka/Krunic/Poegba in double pivot of Tonali or Benny gets hurt – for a long period of time. Huge risk not one we should take if we aspire to move forward in CL and contend for title #20. We will see what happens. Fingers crossed. Forza Milan

    1. I dont think he want to come to AC Milan even AC Milan give him 4m euro nett/years due to PSG offer 4,5m euro nett/years. Compete wage with PSG are bad idea. If we offer 4,5m euro matching PSG ,i believe he will still choose psg unless we offer more than PSG . That will be crazy enter bidding war about wage with oil club like PSG that can easily overpay player. I suggest M&M find another target like fofana ex udinese player or jean onana

      1. You may be right @Reccaman. I don’t think we should overpay but do think he’s definitely worth matching the PSG offer at 4.5M. If he still does not want to come after that then that’s fine it is what it is, we move on. M&M must believe they can convince him or something. Hard to believe they would spend this much time/energy on him if they knew for sure he didn’t want to come – although they thought the same for Botman lol. Guess we will see soon enough.

  3. Don’t bother, clearly wants PSG. We’re gonna shell out money so that he can walk out on us for free! I know we’re just getting back to where we belong after many years of disappointment, but the Milan jersey should still mean something to these players! If not don’t waste your time on them. We shouldn’t have to beg for anyone to come here!

    1. Walk on a free?? What are you talking about lol. The player would obviously sign a new agreement with us or the transfer could not happen. This isn’t American sports. Do you even know what your saying friend?
