CorSera: Milan dealt huge boost as Zaniolo takes action to try force Roma exit

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been given a boost in their pursuit of Nicolo Zaniolo as he has made his wishes clear to Roma, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by Corriere della Sera (via SempreMilan.it), Zaniolo has made an important step towards a potential Milan move as the forward has told the Giallorossi that he does not want to renew his contract with them, which expires in 2024.

The newspaper writes that the move is a deliberate one by the player to try and force an exit and specifically to try and help a move to Milan materialise. The Roma management now have a tough call because if they do not sell this summer then his value will be decreased next summer when he will be a year from expiry, and the threat of losing him on a free also looms.

This certainly could represent a significant turning point for the future of the Italian playmaker, the main target of Maldini and Massara, and it could soon lead to a new meeting between the parties.

  1. Journalists owned by player managers are nothing if not consistent.

Not only was it confirmed that no contacts were ever made between Milan and Roma or Zaniolo’s entourage, but that Zaniolo was in no point of time Milan target in any way, shape or form.

Management stated several times that they like profile like his, but it never, ever went beyond that.

    1. It was confirmed the same way they are writing that Milan is really interested. You are telling everyone they should trust the reporters that are saying one thing, but not the other? :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  2. Bad news. This means that M/M might be tempted to go for Zaniolo rather than CdK. That, I think is a mistake.
