CorSera: Milan must improve in key area to maintain title hopes – no more mistakes allowed

AC Milan welcome struggling Udinese to San Siro tonight looking to put right their slip-up against Salernitana and to put the pressure on their title rivals.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) analyses the game at 18:45 CET by recalling the words of head coach Stefano Pioli who – when asked about the Scudetto – answered in a rather cryptic way.

“The goal is to improve last year’s 79 points, if we are good enough to get to the title. we will have done something exceptional,” he said. Milan are currently top of the league and are in a battle for the title, but there is something they must fix if they are to win it.

Milan simply must become better at beating the teams outside the top seven, because they have dropped 10 points against teams in the bottom of the table, the most recent frustration being a 2-2 away to last-placed Salernitana.

This disappointing draw was made less bitter by Inter’s loss against Sassuolo and Napoli’s draw against Cagliari which allowed Milan to stay top, but the Rossoneri must win at all costs tonight against Udinese otherwise Inter could overtake by the end of the night.
