Matteo Moretto has confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing Darwin Nunez, but because of the costs involved it remains almost impossible.

Many names have been linked, Dusan Vlahovic and Mateo Retegui above all, but Nunez is a name that will not go away. The Uruguayan is expected to leave Anfield this summer having fallen down the pecking order, but – given the €80m+ Liverpool paid for him – it will not be a cheap deal.
Nunez: Between Napoli and Milan
As Moretto has explained on his colleague Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri str very much on the sidelines compared to Napoli, given Liverpool’s high demands for Nunez.
“I told you exclusively how Milan was one of the clubs that asked for information on Darwin Nunez, in addition to Napoli who are clearly ahead. But De Laurentiis’ club has not yet found the basis for an agreement with Liverpool,” he said.
“The two clubs are discussing but to date there are no steps forward in this direction. Always keep an eye on the name of Lorenzo Lucca for Napoli. For Milan, despite a high level of approval for Nunez, in terms of costs it is an almost impracticable path, difficult to reach.”
Exchanging strikers with Liverpool is a bad idea. Both clubs should already be aware of that.

Cerci was a great forward. The injuries is what killed his career. That and he was a late bloomer.

“Costs are going to make the operation difficult” – that goes for any half-decent player on the market. Milan are once again going to be relying on cast-offs, sick-notes and old-timers.
Nunez is not half-decent, he is garbage..

Milan should go back to the negotiation table with Napoli and offer them to keep Okafor (could be valued at around 10 M, his current market value per Transfermarkt is 13 M) and give away Musah (valued at 20 M) and give Napoli 40 M cash all of that would add up to a 70 M package for a player that only has 1 more year left in his contract with Napoli and both player and Napoli are looking for a way for him to leave. And regarding Osimhen salary, yes is a high salary he has had at Napoli, 10 M/ year, but there have been news of Milan wanting to try for Vlahovic that has the same salary at Juventus, and, Tammy Abraham is returning to Roma and Milan paid him 4.5 M this season, Jovic is leaving and had a salary of 2.5 M, between those two you have 7 M, and there’s also the Origi case, that guy has a 4.5 M salary, Milan should find a way to end his contract with some compensation (still has 1 more year left), and that way, between those 3 players Milan could free up around 11.5 in salaries. Maybe Osimhen wouldn’t consider Milan, that’s another subject if a player don’t want to go to Milan, but the club should (and i think has the financial means) try.
