Sky: Milan join Inter in the race for Chalobah – when Chelsea would sanction an exit

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have joined city rivals Inter in pursuing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, according to the latest reports.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky (via MilanNews) last night, Milan are rivalling Inter for the signing of the 23-year-old, who can play as a centre-back or as a defensive midfielder.

The Rossoneri are only willing to accelerate if the London club decide to open to the idea of a loan with option to buy deal, like they did with Fikayo Tomori in January of 2021.

However, the Blues in turn would let go of Chalobah on loan only in the event that the negotiations for the purchase of Wesley Fofana from Leicester go through.

Chalobah joined Chelsea in 2007 at the age of eight, joining his brother Nathaniel in the club’s academy. He made 20 Premier League appearances last season under Thomas Tuchel – scoring three goals – and he was also an England U21 youth international.
