CM.it: Milan and Inter tempted as Chelsea consider giving up on Werner

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Inter have been alerted by the news that Chelsea are willing to sell Timo Werner for the right price this summer, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports how the Milanese clubs are playing out their rivalry as the main candidates for the Scudetto but they could soon contest a market derby to get a new striker. The first name that comes to mind when linked with the two clubs is Gianluca Scamacca, but his asking price and his lack of experience in big games might make them look at other opportunities.

This is where Timo Werner’s name appears. The German forward showed the qualities with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga but has been at his best only only in glimpses since joining Chelsea, and the report cites Sport1 in claiming the Blues might be tempted to sell him for around €40m.

At Inter he could be paired with Edin Dzeko if Lautaro Martinez were to leave and would guarantee greater depth to Simone Inzaghi’s attack, while at Milan he would be a player with different characteristics compared to Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
