Journalist claims Milan and Inter are keen on 24-goal Hertha Berlin winger

By Oliver Fisher -

The summer transfer window has not even officially opened yet but AC Milan seem to be linked with a new winger every day.

With the change of management, Milan could explore profiles that were not previously present on the list of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, and one of them could be Dodi Lukebakio of Hertha BSC who were relegated to the second division.

The Belgian played 32 games in the Bundesliga this season with 11 goals and 4 assists. He was predominantly used as a right winger – a role where Milan need an upgrade before the new campaign – but he can also play as a striker too.

As reported by Sacha Tavolieri, the Rossoneri are interested in signing Lukebakio this summer, but they face competition from their city rivals Inter who are ‘fascinated’ by the 25-year-old.

They contacted the Berlin club and could think about a move if Joaquin Correa leaves. However, Milan appreciate his profile too and could even challenge Inter for the player.

Lukébakio has scored 24 goals and has added 16 assists in 94 appearances since joining Hertha.

  1. So we’d look at this guy, but not Orsolini who has similar stats, price and age, plays in Serie A, has national team caps, is Italian and would help with the UEFA lists? It’s perplexing. The only thing I can think of is that the club could take advantage of the growth decree with Lukebakio.

    1. If Orsolini is that good he should be by now playing for Juventus,Napoli ,Roma or Inter….. Berardi,Orsolini ,MSM to me is not good enough for Milan.

      1. I truly agree with you Vero Rossonero.

Pedro, by MSM you probably mean SMS, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic? Not good enough for Milan? Stop drinking.

  2. As per the most recent podcast about the moneyball system. The moneyball system is clearly only about relegated and free players…let’s find a player that fits out spend nothing policy, and then dig around his stats to make him fit our BS moneyball thing…if it’s based on stats sign Milinkovic Savic…there’s only one stat there you need to know…its the stat that he’s effing good at football…

Look at the players we are linked to…N’Dicka, Thuram, this dude….why dot why have in common…..the moneyball system looks at one stat…and that needs to say Free

    1. So moneyball is good at identifying players for rotation level, that’s good to hear as we lack depth.

As for identifying future stars for starting level, we can still rely on Moncada’s scouting as usual (note that Maldini do not personally scout young players, he only signed young players recommended by Moncada). Keep in mind that patience is needed in developing them.

  3. All of these rumors is about free and cheap players. How can we compete with these top teams? I tired of these rumors. Smh
