CM: Milan and Inter both eyeing Lille striker whose value has rocketed to €50m+

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could make a big splash for their attack and they are targeting Jonathan David of Lille but they face competition from rivals Inter, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports how Inter and Milan are battling it out for the Scudetto on the field but away from the pitch they have a few of the same objectives circled, and one of them is David. Milan have excellent relations with Lille, from whom they have already signed Leao and Maignan, with Sven Botman and Renato Sanches also expected to arrive.

The Nerazzurri meanwhile are considering changing their attacking department and in the event of Alexis Sanchez’s departure, the dream is to sign Paulo Dybala from Juve on a free transfer, while if Lautaro Martinez were to be sacrificed then Jonathan David is the man targeted.

The Canada international is therefore liked by both Milan clubs, with the Rossoneri searching for a long-term option up front, and he is under contract until June 2025 with Lille. With 29 goals scored in 80 appearances since his €27m move from Gent, his value has reached €50m.

  1. I’m afraid Milan are going to need more than excellent relations to get David giving how expensive operations like Pepe to Arsenal and Osimhen to Napoli turned out to be, but I wish it could happen, this kid is a prodigy. I actuallt, I think I would rather not get Botman or Renato, maybe get players like Kamara or Ginter for free, and spend that money on David. Idk, but David is fantastic.
