Repubblica: Milan have not abandoned the Acerbi idea – Inter and Monza also keen

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have still not abandoned the idea of signing veteran defender Francesco Acerbi from Lazio this summer, according to a report.

It is well known that Milan need a new centre-back this summer after Alessio Romagnoli left on a free transfer to join Lazio and there are plans to potentially loan Matteo Gabbia out, while Simon Kjaer has returned after over 200 days out and he must prove his condition.

According to La Repubblica (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri could yet sign their defensive reinforcement from the Aquile. Acerbo seems almost certain to leave the capital, but for the moment there are still no certainties on which shirt he will wear.

The Biacoceleste do not seem intent on standing in the way of the 34-year-old given the problems towards the back end of the last campaign and there are three clubs from Lombardia keen on signing him, namely Inter, Milan and Monza.
