The verdicts were handed down on Tuesday by the judge after the ‘Doppa Curva’ investigation into AC Milan and Inter’s ultras, and the punishments are strong.

Sentences handed out
As La Gazzetta dello Sport, Calcio e Finanza and almost every major source report, yesterday was the decisive day in terms of learning the punishments for those that they had taken in to interrogate and deemed to be guilty of offences.
Ten years in prison was given to Andrea Beretta, the former head of the Inter Curva Nord and collaborator of justice, accused of having killed Antonio Bellocco, also in the Nerazzurri ultra board and scion of a ‘ndrangheta mafia clan, and for criminal association with mafia aggravation.
Ten years in prison was also given to Luca Lucci, head of Milan’s Curva Sud accused of instigating the attempted murder of the ultra Enzo Anghinelli and of criminal association.
Another 14 defendants were sentenced, including Lucci’s deputy in the Curva Sud, Daniele Cataldo – also considered the material perpetrator of the 2019 attempted murder of AC Milan fan Enzo Anghinelli – who got 10 years in prison.
Marco Ferdico, also one of the leaders of the Nord board before his arrests last September, was sentenced to 8 years, again as requested by the prosecutor of the DDA Paolo Storari.
The judge recognised all the charges contested by the Milan DDA, including criminal associations, one also with the aggravating circumstance of mafia. She did not recognize only one charge of extortion, among the many charges.
The defendants were also sentenced to pay damages to Milan, Inter and Lega Calcio, which will be established in a separate court; they will immediately have to pay a provisional sum of €50,000 for each of the two clubs. Lega Serie A – represented by lawyer Salvatore Pino – received €20,000.
The preliminary hearing judge has awarded the family members of Antonio Bellocco – an ‘ndrangheta member and member of the Curva Nord board of directors who was killed by Beretta in September – a provisional sum of €520,000 in compensation to the former ultras leader.
With the sentence, the judge imposed sentences for a total of about 90 years in prison. Among the ultras of the Rossoneri Sud, Alessandro Sticco was also sentenced to five years, Fabiano Capuzzo to four years and four months, Islam Hagag to three years and four months, the same as Luciano Romano.
Among the ultras of the Inter Nord, Renato Bosetti was also sentenced to four years, Giuseppe Caminiti to five years and linked, according to the investigations, to the ‘ndrangheta, Gianfranco Ferdico, Marco’s father, to four years and eight months, Christian Ferrario, to six years, alleged ‘custodian’ of the Beretta and Curva weapons arsenal.
Another five years went to Francesco Intagliata, four years for Mauro Nepi, four years and eight months for Matteo Norrito and two years (suspended sentence) for Debora Turiello, the only woman accused and who, according to the prosecution, managed the Nord cash register and the ticket chapter.
The latter also revealed in the documents that he had pressured officials of the Nerazzurri club to have tickets for important matches, which were then resold, according to the prosecution, also with extortionate methods. A provisional compensation was also awarded to the ultra Anghinelli, victim of the attempted murder.
Finally, three plea bargains were ratified by the preliminary hearing judge in other cases, including that of the entrepreneur Gherardo Zaccagni, who managed the parking lots outside the San Siro stadium.
He was accused, among other things, of a hypothesis of corruption between private individuals with the regional and municipal councillor of Milan Manfredi Palmeri. He chose an immediate trial, which is underway in another case.
In two days, the sentence will also arrive in Court, before the sixth criminal court, for three other Milan ultras also arrested in September.

Class act these Curva Sud thugs are. These are the guys the club is suppose to listen to? They should be banned from the stadium.
