CM: Milan and Juventus begin talks as Roma midfielder’s renewal hits ‘enormous difficulties’

AC Milan and Juventus are paying close attention to Bryan Cristante’s situation as he may leave Roma this summer, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Cristante wants to stay at Roma and he has the esteem of head coach José Mourinho, but despite this he could pack his suitcase and change clubs because there are ‘enormous difficulties’ in finding an agreement on the renewal of his contract expiring in 2024.

He currently earns €1.8m net per year, but given his importance to cub and country his agent Giuseppe Riso – the same representative as Gianluca Mancini has – asks for the same salary as the defender, which is €3.5m net plus bonuses.

Roma are not interested in doubling his salary and that is why a sale cannot be excluded. Sevilla have been keen for some time while in recent weeks contacts with Milan and Juventus have also been registered.

Cristante is not a priority for Milan at the moment, but his name must be considered as he came through their academy so he would be good for the squad list. The Bianconeri like him because he is 27, Italian and would be available for around €15m.
