Tuttosport: Milan welcome Konami to list of partners – the details of the seven-year deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan secured another hit on the partnership front yesterday as Konami were unveiled as the first ever training wear sponsor.

As reported by Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), CEO Ivan Gazidis and the commercial department have secured a €45m agreement with Konami Digital Entertainment that will see the Japanese company become the first Official Training Wear Partner in the history of the club.

For the next seven seasons the logo of eFootball – the game developed by Konami – will appear on the training kits of Milan players and on the pre-match wear in all official competitions both domestically and in Europe.

The paper remarks how it is not the first time Konami have turned to Italian football given that Atalanta, Juventus, Lazio and Roma are already in deals with them, while Napoli even renamed their training complex the Konami Training Centre.

It is yet another sign of Milan’s forward-thinking commercial strategy and the desire to capitalise on the rising reputation of the brand thanks to improved on-field results.
