This summer, Massimiliano Allegri is already breathing new life back into AC Milan, with many feeling optimistic about what is to come.
Last summer, the feeling of pessimism never really ended. In fact, it was probably worsened by the seemingly oblivious members of the management, who continued to refer to a rhetoric about the Scudetto being possible.

It probably extends past that, with Stefano Pioli’s final season also being pretty difficult. However, there is a new feeling surrounding Milan now, thanks to Allegri’s (short) work so far.
The Allegri cure
As MilanNews writes, the ‘Allegri cure is working’ already, sooner than most would have imagined it to. The team are more together, knowing that they have to bounce back, whilst individuals are also showing more.
Look at Rafael Leao, for example, who has really stepped up in pre-season. Last season was hit and miss for the star, but with centrality, both literally and in the view of the squad, he has stepped up again. Already, the relationship is blossoming, with all parties looking to help each other.
Then, there is the general belief in Leao, too. Allegri has constantly been linked to the Portuguese whenever the Diavolo have considered a managerial change. So, the fact that it is now working is no shock. After all, the plan for Leao has probably been hypothesised for months now.

It’s not a cure, it’s common sense. Bank on a player’s strength and mitigate for his weaknesses. For crying out loud. Been saying this for years.
All the coaches trying to get a defensive work rate out of Leao… He’s not that player. Have him do what he’s good at – running at players with speed. He’s not Kessie – he won’t provide defensive work rate and coverage.

I didn’t watch the Liverpool game live, I watched a replay, saw some positives but didn’t get what the hype was about tbh.

I only worry that the fact there is no team in Italy will play like Liverpool or arsenal…possession, aggressive play with high defense, even Napoli or inter wouldn’t dare to play like that… Then it ibecome so interesting how Milan react against Serie A teams that wouldnt allow Milan to play tight defense, transition and quick charge forward
He would’ve revived Theo too. We lost potentially the best fullback under 50 million on the market. New one is good, but in attack no one will replace Theo. Not to mention all the hassle to replace him while we should prioritize a reliable cb instead
