AC Milan have made an offer for Pervis Estupinan of Brighton, but they do not want to go pay €20m+ to sign him.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write that Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare are moving to fill the gaps on both flanks. On the right, an offer hasn’t yet been made for Almeria’s Marc Pubill, but at the same time, there’s little hope that Strasbourg will lower their asking price for Guéla Doué.

Estupinan offer made
Milan’s attention is now more focused on the left flank, and in particular on Brighton’s Pervis Estupinan. This is a big opportunity, and the club have made an initial offer of €12m to sign the Ecuador international.
It’s not enough to secure an agreement, but the Seagulls have already signed Maxim De Cuyper as a left-back. Furthermore, in recent months, Brighton assured Jorge Mendes – the Ecuadorian’s agent – that they will release him if he receives a suitable offer.
The player himself admitted as much back home, stating ‘I want to grow in my career’ in an interview, and now expects his wish to be fulfilled. Milan do want to reach the €20m mark because they know the player, despite having other tempting offers, is pushing to come to Italy.
A little more work is needed, and Mendes is also contributing to the acceleration of the process. Alternatives on the left? Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown has also been mentioned. He’s not related to Archie Brown, who ended up at Fenerbahce after a back-and-forth with the Rossoneri.
Brown, born in 2003, is considered an interesting prospect, although the focus is now on Estupinan. And then there’s Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez, who has long been on AC Milan’s radar, but who has never been approached.
When you don’t even have money for alternative’s alternative but you still engage in negotiations and create needless long lasting drama that in the end will result in a failure and a panick buy that will be alternative alternative’s alternative.
But at least we got rid of Theo right?
Probably the management thought that no player at all is better than a player who doesn’t want to be there for the team.

Funny because they thought the same for the sporting directors two years ago. Seems like their very own conception of what’s best for the team differs from actual football professionals.
That’s the thing, Ted. They DO have they money, at least 90mil from the sales… Plus whatever cash they are sitting on in reserves… Heck, we are so financially responsible that we could even take on losses this season and still be OK.
They are not spending it, that’s the issue.

Director or no director this is a norm for management now….this has been going on for last few years they simply keep on wiggling with no end in sight and ended up panic buying. Even our starting 11 is incomplete and start of season might be a month away…

This negotiation style was here long before Tare, therefore he doesn’t have as much autonomy as we may think…
Same management, same limits and constraints, but now that Tare is here we all think for some reason that it may make a difference. Doubt It.
Estupinan is a good option for LB. But we already know how this story goes – drawn out negotiations, turning the player against the club, it drags on ALL summer, then at the end MAYBE we end up with the player without enough time to integrate into the team. Oh and we end up paying pretty much what the club asked anyway…
