CM.it: Milan hunting for a midfielder and will challenge Man Utd for €35m man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain in the market for a midfield reinforcement and they have set their sights on an option from within Serie A, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.it, the aim even under the new ownership is to continue along a virtuous path which puts young and talented players at the centre of the project. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara continue to carefully monitor the market, and they have Davide Frattesi’s name near the top of their wish list.

Frattesi was linked during the summer window as a potential replacement for Franck Kessie, and the box-to-box midfielder has started the new season well with three league goals for Sassuolo shirt including one against Inter on Saturday.

The 23-year-old was also linked with the idea of returning to Roma, but that did not materialise. Manchester United sent scouts to Sassuolo to watch him, but now Milan are preparing to challenge the Red Devils to sign him, even though the current asking price is €35m.

  1. guys got character and is young and works tirelessly. however, if he comes we must switch to a 3 man midfield. it would help a lot of our midfieders.
