AC Milan’s chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has picked out a new talent that he believes the club should bet on in Edon Zhegrova of Lille, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com recall how the 23-year-old Zhegrova moved to Lille in the last January transfer window for a fee of €7m from Genk, and he has responded well so far to the task of replacing Jonathan Ikoné who moved to Fiorentina.
The Kosovo international has 2 goals scored in 6 appearances with only a total of 102 minutes on the field so far. He is a player that has always attracted interest from top clubs as Arsenal and Barcelona have been keen in the past, while in Basel he ended with 11 goals and 17 assists in 74 games.
Lille are the latest club to take a gamble on him and they are a club that is always very skilled in identifying and enhancing young talent. He even played for a few minutes in the Champions League last 16 tie against Chelsea, showing their faith in him.
Milan had set their sights on Zhegrova well in advance, and the ‘Messi of the Balkans’ – as he was dubbed at home – could have joined in January 2019, when his name was reported by scouts after what he showed at Genk. Given the Milan-Lille axis is always hot, his name could be back in vogue soon.
Ah yes please another experiment at RW…. we need at least a few known quantities guaranteed to produce… you can’t have all unknown children and expect to do consistently well.
Do we really think Origi and Zhegrova will make us better?…. come on.
Who theo or tomori before they were scouted by milan…be honest…not to mention kalulu
Who knew
Theo and Tomori came from R Madrid and Chelsea. Plenty of people knew who they were. Those 2 just were not good enough to play for those teams
We should just hire Lille director that signed all this players from Lille that Milan is interested in.
