AC Milan are watching the development of Lecce midfielder Joan Gonzalez closely and have so far been impressed by what they have seen, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com report that Lecce took a punt on signing Gonzalez this summer as a free agent after Barcelona let him go and he recently renewed his contract until 2027. The 20-year-old started as a right winger, but has the technical qualities to play both as a playmaker and as an attacking midfielder, and has currently settle into a central midfield role.
He has an imposing physical mould at 1.90m tall but he combines it with an ability to dribble and looking to always play forward, typical of the academy he came from, La Masìa. Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham and Everton are often guests at the Via del Mare with their scouts, but there is interest domestically too.
Gonzalez is also very popular with Milan, who have been following him persistently in recent weeks. Lecce currently value him at €10m and the price is destined to rise if the Catalan were to keep going at the level shown so far in his first 16 games (with 1 goal and 2 assists).
These idiots are capable of selling colombo for him
