CM: Milan monitoring two young Ligue 1 strikers – talks held with Jorge Mendes

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain in the market for a young striker and there are two names from France that stand out above all, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, sporting director Ricky Massara is a great admirer of Belgian striker Loïs Openda, who has 7 goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances with RC Lens who he joined in the summer. At the moment the 22-year-old is only an idea that can become something more in the coming months, but his name is on the list.

There is another name arousing the intrigue of the management though and that is Elye Wahi of Montpellier. The 19-year-old has great physique, an eye for goal and good technique, so the France U21 international is convincing Milan more and more.

The 6 goals he has scored in the first part of the season confirm his potential but also that he can be effective immediately. An exploratory chat was held with his agent Jorge Mendes, and Wahi can become an option for the future because he has different characteristics compared to Marko Lazetic, another talent on which Milan seem willing to bet on.
